RIJKSMUSEUM
The Rijksmuseum is a definite must see during any visit to Amsterdam, whether you're fascinated by weapons, porcelain, medals, paintings, coins, etc. The Museum is (unsurprisingly) in the Museumsplein, next to the i amsterdam sign and close to the Van Gogh Museum. The Rijksmuseum is huge, and to see the entire collection would probably take several days. Handily, the museum is divided into different subjects, so you can pick and choose the themes of your choice. As well as being fascinating on the inside, the building itself is a stunning example of nineteenth century architecture. We enjoyed the weapons, coins and medals exhibits. We also made sure to visit the Night Watch Gallery, where Rembrandt's famous painting is displayed. FIND OUT MORE |
