MONA LISA
As part of our Road School mission to see everything that Leonardo da Vinci had ever made, we obviously had to go to The Louvre and take a look at his most famous painting - The Mona Lisa. The gallery was jam packed with tourists, most of whom seemed to be more interested in taking photos and selfies with the famous portrait, rather than actually looking at the picture itself. The painting is surprisingly small in real life, and it shelters behind a bullet proof screen. We stood in the crowd for as long as we could bear, talking about Leonardo, the mysterious smile of the lady in the picture, and how he carried this portrait with him all his life. FIND OUT MORE |
