GREEK THEATRE OF SYRACUSE
The Greek Theatre of Syracuse is in an area of Syracuse that has various fascinating bits of archaeology, including the Ear of Dionysius, plenty of Roman ruins, and some exciting looking catacombs that were unfortunately blocked off for safety reasons when we were there. The amphitheatre is located just outside the main town of Syracuse, and it plays host to theatre performances. While we were there, they were setting up for a performance in the Theatre, as you can see from the photos. At the back of the amphitheatre is a waterfall, where you can go and sit to cool down.
